Kirk Trewin

Associate

Kirk Trewin is a seasoned engineering and transport executive with over twenty years of leadership experience across the bus, rail, and zero-emission vehicle sectors.

Having completed his mechanical engineering apprenticeship with Arriva in 2001, Kirk built his early career within Arriva and in 2012 moved to Go-Ahead Group, holding a series of senior operational and director-level roles. As Engineering Director for Go North East, he successfully oversaw the delivery and commissioning of a new depot facility in Gateshead, consolidating two key sites to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.

In 2016, Kirk transitioned into the rail industry, joining London Midland and subsequently West Midlands Trains (part of Abellio, now Transport UK) as Head of Fleet. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of rolling stock management, depot operations, train availability, presentation, campaign work and vehicle reliability. At the end of 2018, Kirk joined Gemini Rail Group in a senior leadership capacity, ultimately serving as Chief Operating Officer and as a Board Director. He was accountable for the performance and strategic direction of three subsidiary businesses within the Group, driving operational excellence and business transformation initiatives. In 2022, Kirk moved into the zero-emission vehicle sector, joining Lunaz at Silverstone, Northamptonshire. There, he played a key role in establishing a new commercial Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) conversion business, managing start-up operations, investor engagement, and client delivery within the rapidly developing ICE-to-BEV market.

In November 2023, Kirk founded Eastform Advisory Limited, a consultancy business providing strategic and technical expertise to the public transport and clean mobility sectors. Through Eastform, he has worked extensively with Wrightbus, supporting the creation and development of their NewPower conversion bus division. His assignments have included serving as Mobilisation Director, followed by a six-month term as UK Bus Sales Director, where he contributed to the successful launch and expansion of Wrightbus’s new conversion operations.

Leadership
Kirk is recognised for his consultative and collaborative leadership style, ensuring a clear understanding of each organisation’s culture, its people, and its strategic objectives to deliver measurable, KPI-driven results. Over the past decade, he has consistently demonstrated the ability to achieve significant improvements in operational performance and profitability, leading by example and implementing positive, sustainable change across the businesses under his direction.
